Young Associates, founded in 1996, is an independent private equity firm investing in telecom, internet and IT services companies in the UK. Recent investments include Spectrum Interactive, a Wi-Fi operator sold to Arqiva in 2012, and Eurotel, a telecom service provider sold to private equity in 2007. Previous investments include Neos Networks, Pixology and Cambridge Display Technology. The three co-founder partners of Young Associates are Lord Young of Graffham (Chairman), Simon Alberga and Yoav Kurtzbard. Lord Young, currently an advisor to the UK Prime Minister on small business and enterprise, served in the British Government in the 1980s as Secretary of State for Employment and Secretary of State for Trade and Industry and was Executive Chairman of Cable and Wireless plc from 1990 to 1995.
